Some mares are chosen each season to paddock
run with the stallion that best suits them usually they will stay with
the
stallion till just before they foal the next year. Mares due to foal are
paddocked separately when they are close to due and monitored 24/7 with
foaling alarms, mares and foals then run together until the foals are
weaned at around 5-6 months.
Young mares are not mated under 3yo it can be older depending on
development. |
